Size of games?

Being new to all of this I was just wondering about the size of games.
If i wanted to do a big multiplayer game how many points?

Biggest game I've ever taken part in was about 4500pts per side, 6 players per side.

SIMON HALL SAID HE WAS GOING TO WRITE THE BATTLE UP SINCE HE ORGANISED IT if he's listening.

I took about 4 1/2 hours or so IIRC

That was only as Attilta you marched a bunch of our elite cavalrry all around doing nothing. WHile us poor fott sloggers had to hammer it out toe-to-toe.

And I might add, my HF impact undrilled average foot beat simon's HF impact average undrilled foot.

If you are new to FOG I don't think a big multiplayer game is a good idea at all. Start with smaller games - say starter armies or 650 points on a 5' by 3' table. You need to play quite a lot to get familiar with the rules.
