some ideas for V2

From FOG Renaissance
12 bases BG count as 2 BG regard of army attrition level,
Third mouvement for mounted as FOG R
Turn possibility for light artillery (1 MU).
Break off possibility for mounted vs mounted and foot vs foot (same conditions as FOG R),
+1 at the death roll cancelled in case of shoot with majority of firearms (end of middle-age period....handgunners)
+1 of the elephants at death roll extended for all 2 bases BG (Triarii and elite byzantian etc.)

In addition, out of FOG R, it seems logical...to me...to give at least 1 attrition point in case of losse of the CiC...

Impossibility to charge from a kinked position while in colonne, to avoid "snake" passing through other BG using the last MU to turn the front base and so obtain a flank or rear charge next turn with the almost all part of the BG out of flank or rear charge position. My opinion is that charging from kinked formation, the BG has no weight....for the impact....maybe to authorise only an advance into contact in such a case could be a good idea....

It should be noted that these were put into FoG:R to represent areas that were felt to be different enough to ancient/medieval warfare to justify a different mechanism to get the correct results and feel - as such I doubt they would be suitable for FoG:AM.

Oh, BTW it is +2 on the Death Roll, but I guess you know that :D , and in FoG:R it is greater than 12 bases to count as a Grand Battle Group and thus 2BGs.

I didn't know the process of these parts of the FOG R rules, so ok, and you're right : bad reading from me "I read 12 bases and forgot greater than..."nevertheless don't you mind a 12 bases BG could count as 2....there is so much 4 bases BG in tournament that it's difficult to use the 12 ones without reducing the strengh of your army...regard of attrition of course...
And what about others ideas ?

A 12 base BG of mob (or poor LF if they exist in 12's) would cause more arguments than its worth if it counted as 2BG for attrition.

For proper troops it may work. Some 12 base BG of pike would appear. Very powerful

If they were that good they would appear now. IMO it would make 12 base BGs very risky, resulting in an even greater incentive than at present to prefer 10-bases.

In that case it might be better to count the number of raw bases instead of BG's. That would be more fair and there wouldn't be as many strategic choices of BG's.
