Would the Ilford style variable points comp work with FoG:R?

For those unfamiliar with the method, it works like this in FoG:AM.

4 round comp. You take the same army, same date, in 3 variations, 700, 800, and 900 points. You have to use your 700 points list at least once and can only use the 900 point list once. As it happens I don't like the format but wondered if it would work for FoG:R?

Lets hope not the down side from me is you could like some did in the event you mention end up playing four games with opponents fielding 900 points. I think the game is hard enough without tying one hand behind my back. If you want add or take away points but ffor everyone at the same time ie 900 points or 700 points.
