My first 15mm Swedes...

With the release of FOG-R I'm in the process of building a 30 years War Swedish army. This is my first unit: the Yellow Brigade, obviously!
This also marks the first time I've painted any 15s since I changed my painting style completely about six months ago. These are figures from Old Glory 15's TYW range.
I'm always my own worst critic, but I think these turned out fairly decent. Next up on the block is the Old Blue brigade, the Red Brigade, and a unit in grey uniforms that I have not decided on the flag color for yet.
Thoughts?

They are very nice, TR. I particularly ike the yellow uniforms and standard, which are hard to get right. One thing that is probably not historically accurate but which I do like the looks of is to paint pikes, spears, lances etc. a lighter color, like straw. It really makes them pop out and look more 'prickly'.
The only thing I don't like is not really within your control, and that is the small number of minis in a unit at 15mm. I don't mind this in ancients as much, but as soon as units have large, distinctive unit flags they begin to look like reinforced color guards. Not an issue to most people, I know.
Anyway, I think you have a splendid unit there, and hope it brings home many a victory for you!

Do you not paint the bases? You can still see where the wood is pressed together. I use Apple Barrel Chocolate Bar around all my bases and think it looks really nice.

Nice job!
You used "smoke" paint for the darker shades, right? That's what I use in my figures and it works very well.
As your yellow is not too much bright, it looks realy natural.
Keep up with the good work.

Cheap & cheerful in 15mm, I like them a lot and always try to buy them given the choice.
