Canister Ammo

We have AP and HE but I would like canister rounds for some tanks and guns.
How could this be modeled and animated?
It would effect infantry and field guns, fairly short range.

Isn't this just a matter of adjusting HE combat results based on how close the target is? HE represents any type of anti infantry weapon.

Yes it is similar to HE but I don't want to see my tank firing and an explosion graphic. Some tanks would have AP, HE, and canister. I don't think I can have two different HE ratings?

A tank which has cannister would just have a higher HE rating. Different effects can be set up in vehicle fx files I think.

Junk,
Bumping this up ....
It's possible to have a unit shoot CANNISTER shots ... My new Aimlow allows 1-shot per turn, so the logic would be the same.
Also, the cannister shot can boost the HE attack seperately from a basic HE attack.
My only question though ... Who carries cannister shot with them?

That would take some google fu and wiki wisdom.
USMC light tanks and guns, German small tank guns. If we don't have a graphic, it's not that big of a deal. The firepower in BA is generic enough to cover different ammo.

Agreed ... I bumped this post up to let other modders know that SPECIAL AMMO can be introduced without too much fuss.
Now, speaking of special ammo ... 76mm HVAP ... Of course, this ammo was issued to TD battalions, but Sherman 76 crews scrounged a few.
Perhaps some day I will create a HVAP button for the Sherman 76 (armor penetration would equal Hellcat's upon firing). This would be a 1-SHOT supply, when used it's gone forever.
Hmm, perhaps a SPECIAL AMMO BONUS could be created, allowing the player to assign (hand out) extra SPECIAL rounds to units during the scenario... of course, with limitations.
