loosing a TC or FC 1 attrition
loosing a IC 2 attritions

simple, realistic and would make the battles shorter

Sub General 1, CinC 2 would be more realistic. (Ally General 0, who cares).

Isn't this already factored into the game by BGs taking a CT when a general dies?

A more useful change IMHO would be to extend the range of the CT to the command radius of the general. So if Alexander the Great falls off his horse and breaks his neck everybody within 24 MU takes a CT. That should make players a little more circumspect about putting their leaders in the frontline especially where my accident prone ICs are concerned.

The problem with a fixed cost for losing generals is that it will do more damage to a small high quality army than to a large crap army.
I think that it should be the reverse.

It is the same problem with the bagages. An army with 16+ BG doesn't car if it's bagages are lost.
