I thought this had been fixed long ago...........latest game, fully patched to 1.3.4, my highlanders anarchy charged out of plantations at light foot in open fields......this should not happen according to the rules.

Do you mean open or open fields? MF will anarchy charge from one type of terrain to another, just not from terrain into open.

My highlanders were in plantations, the light foot were in open fields.
So, they will anarchy charge from one rough terrain to another rough terrain???
That it not what it says in the rules, where it is the terrain the MF are in that matters:
"They are medium foot shock troops in open/clear terrain and the nearest enemy battle group is also foot"

They are anarchy charging out of steep hills now, into rivers.....all set up for the Swiss pikemen to crush....

This is very odd...first the evade bug and now this. What makes it even more odd is the fact that it doesn't seem to be consistant. I have seen some BG:s stand when they should have evaded but not many and nothing like what you describe here. I hope they get a fix for this out quickly. With all the competition games right now it feels quite uncomfortable to risk stuff like this when you play.

I'm not sure how it is written in the computer rules, but in TT MF in terrain will anarchy charge targets that are also in terrain, and I suspect the code logic on the computer version mirrors that. In TT terrain of different types are rarely adjacent, so the issue of charging out of one type of terrain and into another rarely arises.

I think the table top rules will have shock troops have to test not to charge into any terrain that doesn't disorder them. I don't think it necessarily matters where they start. As said, it is very rare for other terrain to be within charge distance.
I am not sure how the river is supposed to affect that, I'll look when I get home. I agree that if the rules/help file for the digital version seems to be based on the terrain the troops start in, and that's not the case, it should be changed in the help file.
That said, you don't seem to be doing that badly so far.
