Measuring unusual moves

A couple more thoughts from last nights game.

1) On more than one occasion a BG wheeled and contracted from the outside of the wheel. When you measure such a move do you measure the move of the front rank base that goes the furthest or do you measure to where the outside of the wheel would get to and then contract? I hope the question makes sense, if you imagine a line of say 8 LF, advance straight and contract 2 bases on the right to be six wide and two deep on the right hand two files then next move wheel to the right and contract the left hand two bases to make a four by two group. Does the outside element of the new group move a full 5 MU's or is the move based on where the now contracted far left hand element would end up?

2) When a BG has evaded at an angle and as a result ended up as a 'mob' (the rules use the word mob here but there is a troop type mob, this could cause confusion) how do you measure a move that would reform the group assuming you want to move as far as possible (perhaps to get a shot at whatevery you evaded from).

1) Effectively the 'contract' and the 'wheel' (or rather 'green advance') are performed as 2 seperate actions.
i.e. you make the wheel, measuring the maximum distance for each base, then you make the contraction. the distance moved during the contraction is not measured, as it's assumed to have happened during the 'advance' part of the move.
2) We rcognise that there's a problem with evading as a 'mob' and are drafting a new rule, which will ensure that you don't end up as a 'mob'. For the moment do what you feel is best for the situation, but try to ensure that the closest base to the chargers doesn't move further than the variable evade move allows.
