Has anybody thought of gaming this series? It really is fantasy "lite",in that there arent any monster/magic types, but just straightforward Medievil troops with a little "pre-change" tech thrown in,such as one handed ratcheting crossbows, using the mechanisms from car jacks. There are really some great battle scenes in it. Troop types are straightforward, with little variation from historical types: "Mackenzie" Highlander Wiccans, basically protected med foot, using either longbows or hvy weapons(Lochaber axes)."Bearkillers" A-listers are armored cavalry with both short bow and lance capability, and should be rated at least superior, but few numbers,Drilled militia withpikes/hvy weapons, and crossbow, also torsion type field artillery.Portland Protective Association,11th cent Norman knights, spears and crossbows, with a small amount of hvy field artillery. Oregon State University "Corvallan" militia, pike and crossbow. Oh yes,the Dunedain Rangers,a very small number of Bow armed cavalry that can dismount, should be elite in status. I'm only halfway through the first 3rd of the series, and I'm sure there's more. No,I'm not touching the "Eater" bands, We are playing some of this with SoB/H,and my friend is obsessed with them,I think.
