1.3.6 changes or imagination?

I am replaying the desert campaign single player.
Just tonight played hold the pass, first game since update 1.3.6
Positioned my guns well and caught the Germans in a cross fire, pretty much wiped out their entire attacking force almost without loss! That surprised me a bit then my reinforcements arrived and I counter attacked.
Not sure if imagining it but crusaders seem to break down more often?
My counter attack was cut to pieces, I lost all but one of my tanks, it seems the German defesive opportunity fire is MUCH more effective, is that correct?
Andy
PS I think it was more fun the way it was before!

Units are more proactive in firing once they are seen by the enemy, so you might have been seeing that. Glad it was fun!
Cheers

Yes people are complaining about the op fire and now they're paying the price for their complaints.
Might be good for mutiplayer but makes the balance in the campaign is out of whack because they were designed using old rules.

the thing with play testing, is it was done with the old game.
Every time a game is tweaked, it's a whole new ball game.
As the saying goes, be careful what you ask for.

I'm still trying to get through the desert campaign. It seems even harder now.

I've haven't played the SP campaigns since 1.3.6, but balance changes are always risky for SP. I still think it might be wise to split MP and SP stats/behaviour to avoid MP balance changes breaking SP balance. A simple warning message "MP gameplay may differ from SP" should warn new MP players that what they have learned in SP may not work in MP. Since you are playing a human player and not scripted AI it's an entirely different ballgame anyway.

Anyway there's now an easy option for campaign games.

Just played another half a dozen SP games using 1.3.6 and have to say the effect was not that great at all. I like the way units now really fight back if you get close to them. Have yet to download 1.3.7 will be interesting to see what the panthers and tigers are like now.
Just for interest really does anyone know WHAT the developers did to panthers and tigers to make them tougher? Pip?
