Campaign System

Of course a campaign system would be lovely. I don't know whether it would be in Slitherines interests to consider making such a thing, or whether it might be possible for dedicated modders to do it, but;

Imagine a campaign map with multiple battlegroups from each side. Imagine (for simplicity) a single commander in chief controlling the map movement and he and his subordinates fighting one or more multiplayer battles according to the outrcome of the campaign moves.

In the glory days of Close Combat 4 my clan used to pass around saved game files from a single player campaign in order for the various players to take their turns at fighting a battle. Could something similar be done in BBCBA I wonder? Register numerous players with the PBEM system for the same campaign and then set up the relevant battle and notify the players concerned?

Maybe that should be the game I build one day....... :D

Well, if a tournament system were being worked on, then it (the hypothetical?) tournament system could assign players into teams? Would that be close to what you are talking about?

Cheers

I'm sure it, hypothetically, would be at least a step closer. ;)

In my opinion, the Battlegroup system broke the CC series.

How else do you propose a campaign that isn't just a fixed series of scenarios? Whether the force for each battle is created from a force pool or is fixed there has to be a 'unit', which I just happened to call a battlegroup, to move around the campaign map.

And, for the record, I totally disagree with you. :)
