Picked up from Lawrence Greaves:
Charge direction: Mandate that this be declared earlier in the sequence. Also define it better, as a charge with a wheel has different directions before, during and after the wheel.
I'd certainly say charge direction should be declared with the charge (often is in practice, but not required at present which can cause unnecessary friction), and I wonder if wheels should only be allowed at the start of the charge rather than at any time?

This may make it impossible to hit the target

Get the troops in the right position to begin with then perhaps?
I mention it because it is one of those areas where quite a lot of players feel geometry plays more than it should (you get to know this when umpiring ...) and so may be desirable to change to avoid this.

Hard cheese then - need to get into position before charging.
We have already decided to make it so.

Makes life easier for shock troops.
IMO wheels are very odd anyway. The guy at the pivot stands still for 10 minutes whilst a chap 300m to his left runs like Usain Bolt. How else to do the moves with toy soldiers though is a hard task.

So v2 will reward good play over cheesy rules knowledge then - my results will get worse... :)
