Probable 650 point tournament in Stockport

As there is not going to be a Game 10 I am considering running one or two 1 day 650 point comps in Stockport.

At the moment October and November are fairly full but I don't think that there are any in December so I would suggest the second weekend of December as a possible.

it would help if I could have some idea of the amount of interest I might get.

25th might be a flier. Loads of people have the day off. And you will not get many Santa Claus turning up...

Of course you will. They're finished by the time everyone else gets out of bed.

OK, I will contact the venue and book the 11th/12th of December. Once I know what it is going to cost I will do a propper announcment.

Oops just realised my son will be 11 in November. LOL

If it becomes a little awkward I could let my son enter and I could just supervise him rather than play myself.

Any thoughts?

If you think he is up to it I can arrange for you and he to be next to each other for every game. You know his level of play more than anyone else.

He has a way to go yet Hammy but we can practice every other weekend until the competition.

I have told him he will come last but also told him I came last in my first 2 competitions.

Sitting next to each other should be sufficient and it gets the numbers up. He has already said he wants to play not spend two and a half hours watching.

If there is interest I don't see why not.

probably 600 points on a 6 by 3 would seem reasonable, possibly slightly less.

Is there any chance of making it themed rather than open?

To be honest I'd be happy with pretty much any theme, it's the Open competitions I find less inspiring.
