Mission 'The Hill'

Well I am totally stuck. I've spent almost six hours repeatedly failing this mission & that makes the game's fun come to a grinding halt & point my eyes toward other games

Take the hill: rush in, die fast. Go slowly, takes too many turns. Use a 25-Pounder, lucky if you take out a bunker as they devastate infantry. Mortar barely touches bunkers but does at times take out enemies behind sand bags. Using artillery strike is down to pure luck. Hurricane gets shot out the sky.

Go for the villages: first two no problem. Third protected by six-odd tanks but mostly the Tiger that is very, very tough & kills most of my tanks.

Whatever I do, I lose.

Slitherine, I am f'ing bored. Where are the cheats to avoid me giving up entirely?

If you are talking about "the bloody hill" from the normandy campaign, the trick is use your wasps to flame the sanbags they kill them in 1 or 2 hits. Don't capture all 3 points on the hill in 1 turn or your reinforcements don't show up for some reason. Capture 1 at a time per turn and you will have enough reinforcements to hold the hill and push down.

Stay behind the Villages, don't use the street. Bombard the last village before the victory point village, to kill or dislodge the german infantry . So you can hide between the buildings waiting for the Tiger and the Panzer IV.
Buy Churchills they can even sustain a hit from an 88/Tiger. Tke the Hill at last. Before you assault it Bombard the 88 an beware there are some tanks coming from the Hill.

Good luck

You don't HAVE to take the hill, but doing so will stop the German bombardments. So if you're having trouble try avoiding the hill entirely. Obviously that means you have to keep your distance from the AT guns around it.

To deal with the Tiger: move to point blank range (rear or flank) after it ran out of shots, surpress it with bombardments or ambush it around a corner (preferably with several units).
