Hi guys,

we want to include national flags for the major and minor nations. Does anyone know a good source of WW2 era flags? Here are the countries we are looking for. Some will be the same as now, but others might be slightly different and others don't exist any more!

I haven't checked every country but especially the first link seems to have historical flags of all kinds.

And let's not forget the opening assaults in The Battle of the Bulge.

There were of course plenty that held their ground, but many more headed west and not just at a walking pace.

Of course there was no particular disgrace - troops of all nations cut and run at some stage. I just dislike any fundamentalist rubbish - whether it be religous or nationalistic....

I am so totally with you on this. Patriotic pride is fine, but when it interferes with a realistic understanding of the situation...

For example, in 1861 both North and South seem to have expected a short war and an easy victory. Had they known what lay ahead, perhaps both sides would have negotiated harder, and been less willing to force armed confrontation.

Pride always for the ability to wage war. Pride is the original sin & motivates man. Not just for the USA, but all fighters, just look at the suicide bomber of today.
