File Sharing

There are several ways to share files over the internet. Dropbox has been mentioned a few times. Here is a quick rundown for those that haven't used live sync programs.
Go to www.dropbox. com download and install the program. Read the simple help texts. Make sure that you set Dropbox to start at startup and display the tray icon. That way you will be logged in already so that when someone posts a link to their file, you will be able to copy it easily. Dropbox is free and gives you 2GB of storage.
When you upload a file to your public folder to share, make sure that you wait for the green icon that lets you know that the file has been synced. Then right click, mouse down to the dropbox line and select copy public link from the popout. You can then paste that link for others to have access.
You cannot upload folders. Zip the file first.
I have also used the file sharing ability of Hotmail and more recently Windows Live Sync. You can download it from Microsoft or it will be part of Windows Live Essentials. Also free.
