:D Yes we need these as well as more German mobile artillery. Wespe, Hummel would be nice? I suppose its up to the 3d modders to put these into the game. I love the in game Stug and PIVG models, but the tiger looks rather blocky to me. C'mon modders get some.

Is the Hetzer in? Not come across it yet. So cute but deadly. :D

There is no Wespe or Hummel!

That's what I during whole the game missed!

and it's also a tactical disadvantage for Wehrmacht!

But will be done!

No!

There is no "Hetzer" in the game!

Because "Stug G" can fullfill its function, it was not added!

But it can be!

Of potential interest... :)

The Engine documentation available from the Modding Portal has been updated to detail how the create and add 3D units of your own.

Included is a link to example MAX files and the exporter script needed to create game assets.

Grab it now from the Modding Portal!

Well, I did find myself wanting to also have the JagdTiger.

:D Excluding the German 42 PanzerWerfer there is no German mobile artillery or does the Stug have a indirect fire mode? The allies on the other-hand have the Sherman 105, M8 Scott, M7 Priest, Sherman Callope and the Bishop to name a few. The U.S M8 Greyhound or machine gun mounted jeep would be a welcome mobile scout unit as rhe German 234 Puma covers this role.

Thanks!

Yes, one voter more for "german mobile artillery!"

Just for info; we are talking here, not about close fire support! (We have Stug A for that!)

Thanks!

Had a go at making a jeep. Got to start work on the texture now and then make myself cry with animation, but I wondered if anyone would like to offer criticism, or show me the better one they already made.... :D

The steering wheel is on the wrong side. :P

I'm assuming you're in Europe, heh.

Looks good!

If it doesn't shoot then you just need simple animations - I would check out the truck .txt animation file for what to set up.

You know I actually thought about the fact that I had to swap the steering wheel over to the WRONG side, then I made it the wrong way anyway.

looks like a clean model. Remember to delete any bottom side polygons - since you'll only ever see it from above - to cut down the poly-count a bit more. Not that it'll affect frame-rate much, but it'll save you the trouble of UV mapping & texturing those parts.

Good point, but I have already unwrapped it and starting texturing. Just blocking out the underside though.

It has a little under 400 poly's, twice that of the Churchill, but the wheels make up quite a chunk of the poly count.

Great looking jeep! Be cool to have some riders in there with MG's. Would be great for Arnhem or LRDPG.

Here's my attempt at a M8 Greyhound. Due to the MG guy and awkward shape its about 3 x the Churchills polys but I can cut some down if it causes problems. I noticed the models were very low poly so some higher poly models for people with high spec pcs maybe cool.

I need to animate it next and then work out how to get it in game (plus the destroyed texture - the guy maybe a bit of a problem - maybe just have to be blacken too - not a great look)

Love the game by the way!

Good job!

I have been wondering about the crew, but I actually quite like the toy like look of the game with none of the open topped vehicles having crews.

I plan to complete the jeep as is (with steering wheel on the other [wrong] side) and get it in the game. If all is well I will add an mg, and one with a roof, etc. I'm not quick at painting though.....

I believe the unit textures support an alpha channel? If so, you can make the soldier entirely transparent in the destroyed version of the texture, thus making it invisible.
Due to the MG guy and awkward shape its about 3 x the Churchills polys but I can cut some down if it causes problems.
Again, the inside of the wheels, bottom of vehicle (and especially turret) etc can all be cut out because they are never visible.
