First Map Pack - looking for some beta input!

Hi guys
We want to get something out to people next week with a couple of new MP maps, and a little bit of fun from me. If you guys could give them a try it would be awesome.
Grab the zip from:
http://www.slitherine.com/files/bbc_ba/Slith_MP1.zip
And put the Slith_MP1 folder into your My Docs\My Games\BBCBA\Multiplayer folder, and the Pip_Skirmish into the My Docs\My Games\BBCBA\Campaign
The MP maps should be self evident, the skirmish one basically just asks you to survive a stream of random German forces - so choose your units well!
Looking forward to any feedback.
Thanks a lot
Pip

Played the Skirmish with 19 kills and 6 units lost. With a balanced group of units (some sherman, a couple of M18 and 17pdr and some infantry to hide on the houses) you can easily hold on the 15 turns.
It's a fun scenario, but it could be more challenging without CAS and artillery barrages...and maybe less points to spend

Phil can you make it a multiple map campiagn. The next scenario gives less money and less bonuses and maybe slightly more enemies? Then same again for the next one. Keep going and we'll have a campaign that gets harder and harder and people can see how far they get. having a different map would be interesting but probably too much work. Maybe the same map with a few modifications to make it play a bit different like moved forest, houses etc.
Problems in Deploy mod!?

You can deploy Infantry and mortar units in some buildings and in some not!?
Any reason for that? (I know that spome units were deployed in some buildings during creating the map. But I wanted to chance them with others.

Ah Phil you need to reveal the entire area in the script you want the player to deploy to. Otherwise you end up with blank spots in the shroud you cannot deploy to.

I think you mean it says that you need to download the scenario pack, on the tooltip for a challenge? Or do you mean something else?

I haven't bought the game yet. Is that the problem?

Yup - sorry, the beta programme has been closed down now. It's a pain to make it work when the main game is live too.
I got caught out at home too when I tried to run last night

.

OUch, I just got wiped out in the Skirmish battle! I actually like that as it shows that things aren't too easy.. for me at least

That's odd. Could it be a corrupted upload? Does it repeat if you try to download the turn again?
Cheers

I';ve tried it several times and it crashes and give the same error each time.

I don't imagine either of you have been tinkering with files, so I can only think it must be a corrupted upload.
I will try rolling back the turn for you.

Turn rolled back. Hope that gets you going again. Not ideal I know

. Looks like we might need to have some checking for slower upload speeds.

OK that explains why I had to repeat my opening move, thought old age was catching up with me

Maybe I'll just go in and randomly do it, just to mess with people
Ahem

The file is back and I tried to take my turn again. I get the same error message. The load up art is there with the scroll bar, but it freezes and I alt-tab and see the error box. I wouldn't even know how to tinker with the files and haven't tried

All other games (MP) i';ve played and am playing work, just not this new one.
