This update adds a load of extra help to the tutorial for new players. This and a bunch of other minor UI changes were requested by the BBC.
http://www.slitherine.com/files/bbc_ba/ba_1.2.exe
It's a full version Remember to uninstall before installing this build. Please also delete the "My Docs\My Games\BBCBA" folder. This cleans you out completely and makes you behave like a new users. It will avoid any issues of crashing due to old format data files hanging around.
Note you won't be able to see or continue ongoing MP games.
Thanks to all you guys!
Cheers
Iain

On every screen (selection force, mission description, during the scenario) there are new and additional infos!
Good idea!
Especially for beginners makes it easy!
zoom level!

OK! The one who the scenarios loves this zoom level, but I don't!

Much better.
I am on a CRT at 1024x768, when the game is installing, there is a splash screen. At the bottom is a copywrite notice. It is chopped off mid sentence.
icon and italian sound datas!

Italian sound datas and icon are still missing!
additional info for beginners..

If you want to get all the VP, don't conquer all the VP flags, until the additional ones are fulfilled!
If not, after capturing all VP flags the scenario ends!
Don't unload your infantry units before supressing the enemy units in the area!
and so on!
out of the scenario borders..

There is a stuart out of the scenario borders in the second desert scenario, which we can move in to the game!
Is it game design?

don't save so much points..

by the force selection and give a little more points for the beginners!
F.e. in the second desert scenario it could be 305 points, so that the player can choose between to buy a second stuart or not!

Deploy mode?
Posted: Mon Jul 26, 2010 2:26 pm
by pomakli
There could be in each scenario deploy mode, so that the player has more flexibility for the coming struggle!

the last german attack
Posted: Mon Jul 26, 2010 3:02 pm
by pomakli
in the desert campaign the siege scenario begins on the 3. turn (turn numbers are countdowned!)!
In my opinion it's too late and makes no additional stress!
As an allies player my victory is done; it's only wait for them coming and killing at this point!
Just a suggestion; it could begin a little bit earlier!
preparatory!

by pomakli
Desert camp. siege scen.
a preparatory(!) bombardement could be a little bit more!
Additional german battery maybe!

better combine!

by pomakli
To the last for the same scenario german attacks could be better coordinated!
It's like a turkey shoot on the tobruk!!

suppressed unit fires

Desert Campaign Sandstorm melee scenario; suppressed italian tank fired to the unloaded infantry unit!?

support?

by pomakli
On the score screen it appears also
SUPPORT
(vehicle or unit?)
losses or kills!?
This one is...

second german attack..

Desert Campaign Sandstorm melee scenario:
On the mission briefing map there are 2 arrows for 2 german attacks!
I tried the scenario more than 3 times for finding out if its better two play with mathildas or stuarts.
In some cases the german attack to the right wing of the british forces didn't take place!
(To the small village with 25 pdrs!)

In my opinion it's too late and makes no additional stress!
the last attack waves are very small and only ment to give the player something to do in case he manages to kill the main attack waves quicker than expected.
In some cases the german attack to the right wing of the british forces didn't take place!
IIRC that attack is randomised, either targetting the british base or the settlement at the bottom right (were british reinforcements spawn eventually).
So unless they're staying idle on the map somewhere this shouldn't be a bug.
desert frontal assault scenario

the reinforcements arrive on the 4. turn before the end!
In my opinion it's a little bit late!
Till they move to the german base and help to the attack there will be only 2 maybe 1 turn till the end!

ESC button doesn't work!

Desert campaign hold the encampment scenario no possibility to chance the sfx or save!
