X is a group of MF armed with Light Spear. They declare a charge on Y, a group of MF Bow. Z is a unit of Lance armed Cv who intercept charge X. At impact between Z & X does X count as charging mtd shock troops for purposes of deciding whether they can count their Light Spear at impact?

Yes the Lt Sp foot count as charging shock mtd so lose their POA

Thanks, that's how we played it as it seemed most logical though we couldn't find it in the rules. The fact that the MF then bounced the Cav despite the 5-3 match up made me wonder if that was fate telling me that we'd called it wrong...

Just really lucky dice rolling by the sounds of it. Save that one for bragging rights next time your lt spears get pummeled.
