I have managed to update to v1.30 no problem. Clicked on Immortal fire and it says I need to download it. I had it downloaded but everytime I click on the download the window opens that says initializing and it freezes there. I go to task manager and it shows it as not responding.
I have tried several times to install the download and it will not get past the initializing window.

I deleted the original download, downloaded a second time and it worked, went right to the install window after the download which it did not do with the first attempt
Problem with Mac version

I have version 1.2.8 installed along with Rise of Rome and Storm of Arrows. I got an email today informing me that Immortal Fire is ready along with a serial number. If I to enter the serial number at startup I am told the number is invalid. If I try to check for an update within FoG it alternates between telling me that 1.3.0 is available (the software quits with a nil exception error) or hangs while launching the client.
Anybody else getting this? Anybody have a workaround?
Mac OSX.5.8 on a 4 GB PowerBook (2.6GHz Intel Core Duo).

How long did you wait? I had to wait maybe 2-3 minutes before it actually began installing... Which is a long time when your just sitting their waiting a procees that usally takes 5 seconds

I had to wait 3 to 4 minutes for it to initialize too. But it did work. Take the Mouser's advice and be patient, it should work.

The server is very busy so may be slow to respond today with thousands of people updating. The PC installer takes Some time to get started as it has to check a lot of stuff. In general if you just wait it should all sort itself out.

I have downloaded Immortal Fire and tried to install it, it went to check for updates as part of the installation and came up with an error. I closed down installation program and now when I come to start Field of Glory normally (to use the auto patcher) I get the following error message, followed by the program quitting;
util.GameStoppedException

I think I will try reinstalling everything again and seeing if that fixes things

If you were on the beta test you need to install v1.2.8 to get back to a real version before installing Immortal Fire. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Hello,

What it this ?

This means the file has not downloaded properly. Where are you saving it to? It should be around 500MB.

Size is only 68 Mb. I click on a link that I had received by mail and I save the file in the default folder choosen by windows and called downloads. My OS is vista premium with SP1.

You need to try again - you have failed to download the file for some reason.

I have tried to download the file with a software called free download manager but it's always a fail and now I have this message when i try again : Too many download attempts: 36. You were allowed to download only 5 times.

Hi Iain.
I have purchased all of this excellent series with no problems so far but IF just wouldnt load (though admittedly I did try before patching up to 1.3 and was only at 1.29)
I have now patched to 1.3 and DR now says I have exceeded my 5 d/l attempts !!
I never actually managed to d/l...........
Can you help?
(Murphys Law came into effect as this is the first of this series I went with d/l only as I have had a back up disc with the first two

)
Glad the series is such a success for you.
Best wishes Ian

Either contact DR and tell them what happened or send your order details to
info@slitherine.co.uk and we'll sort it out on Monday. I can't do that from home.

If your installation of updates stopped at version 1.2.9 and now the game will not open the solution is to reinstall the 1.2.8 patch and start the update again.
The seems to only effect ex-beta testers where the is a incompatibility between some of the files in the Beta Test and the live update. Reloading the 1.2.8 patch restores all essential files and the 1.2.9 and 1.3.0 live updates will then install normally.
Apologies for the hassle.

I didn't take part in the Beta.
I downloaded IF today with no problem. Initialising the install takes a while but my problem comes when install gets to auto update. The update proceeds to just over 80% and then stops. I've also tried running the game and then using the auto update: same result.

After about the sixth attempt, managed to download 1.3.0 through the game auto download prior to installing IF. Last 8% of download took over an hour. IF then installed with no problem.

The updater seems to have issues when there is so much traffic so we need to look at it and see what we can do to improve the process. Sorry for any inconvenience.

The 1.3.3 update seems to have resolved the issues. Immortal Fire now installed.
