I get the message whenever I try to install IF. It goes to the auto-update part, I click next and it loads FOG up. At that point, this error message appears along with the flash screen, and when I close the game I am met at the same, auto-update screen in the installer.

EDIT: I uninstalled the beta completely, and it seems to have solved the problem. However... now I have to wait for it to download 1.3, despite the IF download already being 400+ mbs; doesn't the IF install include the 1.3? :s I remember SoA was only 80~ mb

Did you install 1.3.0 first?

I couldn't install 1.3.0 through the auto updater in the beta; it wouldn't let me.

What I did was this:

uninstall

install fog
install ROR
install patch 1.2.whatever
install SoA
Install IF (which, as part of the 400 and something meg installed, made me download the 1.3 patch)

The error log mentions 1.2.9. Someone posted the same error on the tech forum. I hope this is universal.

Mine goes looking for 1.29 and faults out saying it cannot resolve the hostname. Real bugger to since I cannot get to the multiplayer for league games.

Same error as grumblefish here.

I had updated to 1.3.0 before I tried to install IF.

The canceled IF install has broken FOG, now I always get the error when FOG starts.

A bit annoying...

Hi guys,

If you are having any issues with the release version installer, can you please provide us with more information?

1. What releases are you installing on top of and from which store (Slitherine or Matrix) did you get them?

2. Are you installing on top of an Immortal Fire Beta release?

Regards,

- Erik

Me too.

My version showed 1.2.8 when I started patch - I used the auto update button in the game screen menus.
I closed the update after 'succesful install' and there was a delay before the game rebooted. It rebooted to version 1.2.9 and would not allow me access to the server - message was '1.3.0 available'.
A second patch procedure took somewhat longer but game is now 1.3.0 and all is well.

Beware anyone in the same position as me you may need to double patch 1.2.8 to 1.2.9 then 1.2.9 to 1.3.0.

My download is aomost complete, but I don't want to break FoG so I may wait to install it.

I went to play FOG IFr before checking the e-mails and my game would not even do the update. The update button just said I had the latest version and when I went to try to log onto multi-player it said I needed V1.30. Then I check the e-mail and now I am downloading the game as I type this. Gotta wonder if I should not try to find and delete the beta part of the game... :?

The only ones that seem to have an issue with updates so are the players with the beta version. If you were a Beta tester and the game is not installing the latest updates simple solution is to install the 12.8 patch again, the link is in this forum and that will reset the game back before the beta edition. This certainly shouldn't be happening... sigh. We'll have to find out what the problem is. Sorry guys. Is it only people with the beta version that have an issue. It was designed to work around this but if it is a beta issue obviously we missed something.

Hi Everyone,

If you were running a beta version, please try uninstalling it before installing the official release of Immortal Fire. That should hopefully help.

Yes, playing right now. It works if you follow the method I used in my prior post.

uninstall

install fog
install ROR
install patch 1.2.whatever (on closer inspection, 1.2.8)
install SoA
Install IF

Installing the full 1.28 update on top of your installation before installing IF may also work if you have a beta installation.
