Spartan: music and battlefield zoom problems

Hi

I've had Spartan (German version) for about a year and it's run fine up until now. I 'upgraded' to Windows XP, and now the music won't play and I can't change camera angles or zoom in/out on battlefield scenes.

I have a Gateway Pentium III, 733 MHz with 256 RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce MX 440 graphics card and a Creative SoundBlaster Live! sound card. All drivers are the manufacturer's newest ones, designed for XP. I'm running Direct X 9.0 and have the Spartan v1017 (German) patch. Graphics acceleration is turned up to full and I only run the game on 2D (not 3D). Help and thanks.

Hi, zoom only works in 3D not in 2D.

We've not seen this problem with music before - check the volume in game is turned up & let me know.

It might be worth reinstalling the game to see if that fixes the problem too.

Cheers

Thanks Pip and Iain--you guys are amazingly fast. I reinstalled as you suggested and the music works fine. However, when I try to play in 3d mode it crashes to the desktop. Any ideas? Thanks again.

It might be that your drivers need to be updated?

When exactly does it crash?

Well, duh...I had graphics acceleration turned off. I turned it back up to full and it works like a champ.

Thanks again! I've had my share of experiences with tech support and you guys are hands down the fastest ever. Kudoes!

Excuse me, it's absolutely out of topic but I have to know...

Are you related to the hungarian discus thrower Fazekas....

...or Fazekas is a rather common surname????

Love the way he throws discus, great technique...but I heard he had some "problems" with the IAAF

Hi Duncan, I might be. 'Fazekas' is as common as Jones in Hungary. Cheers--SJF
