Alexandrian Macedonian issues (1.2.12)

1. Agema should be 0-2. Allowing 6 elite Agema is scary! (I'm fighting someone with them now

.)
2. Other companions should be 2-3. These are the required ones.
3. Thessalian and Greek cavalry should be 0-4.
4. Overall maximum for all these categories of cavalry (1-3) should be 6 but with separate limits for each line in the group
5. Lists should include the option to re-arm hypaspists and/or foot companions with javelins as sub-groups of each of the pike armed versions of theses. It would be nice to allow the option to pay extra to have the option to deploy these troops either way at thestart of the battle as in the TT lilst but may not be worth the effort to implement.
6. In the Later Alexandrian list, Greek mercenary hoplites and Allied hoplites should be 0-3 overall total. These are also part of the 0-18 overall total for Mercenary Iphikratean hoplites.

Just applied the fixes (where a fix is needed) ready for 1.2.13. IN the next updates the Pike can be deploed as MF, subject to testing here. Keith

Thanks, Keith. You can probably tell which armies I use from the TT lists. Immortal Fire is probably my favorite book for that matter.

The scary one's me

but indded, allowing 6 agema companions seems a little bit odd.
Though you need to see Yann's parthian armies, with swarms of elite (9!!!) of superior cataphract cavalry

all those elites means less openings for anything else though...

There are no elite Parthian Cataphracts! Keith

Keith,
Yes, they were not elite, but Superior. Same frightening view though, you can get as many as 9+4+3 for a total of no less then 16 Superior Cataphracts. With an Inspired commander, you can break almost anything with them.
deadtorius,
well, you can still have a room for lots of something else, like in getting everything relevant from that army

Your elite Agema didn't seem to have any trouble dealing with my Superior Armenian cataphracts in our game! Fortunately your superior Hypsapists eemed to be similarly overrated

.

I would like to report that Cothyo's elite agema could not save his army from my Kyrenean Greek chariot swarm

That game was pretty close, grumble fish, and also, I have almost no experience at all playing ancient tactical wargames multiplayer. We'll see again in a couple of weeks of practice
Nice games, mates, thank you!

no worries, you gave my dreadful egyptian army a sound thrashing. For anybody curious, both of my armies had max-chariots (including allies), but the egyptian one was archer based while the kyrenean one had light spear chariots. I am pretty horrible at ranged combat.
