I guess most of you hear of the new G-mail account right? Its got 2G of space to store your emails and stuff. Anyway I have quite a few invites spare and I decide to use it to make some friends. If you want to be invited to join G-mail please email me at johnaustinlawrence@gmail.com

I always wanted to ask this. What is the point of having such huge email accounts? Sure my 2MBs hotmail is too small (with all the 400k spam I get there), but at the same time my Yahoo! 1GB is huge. Now GMail has 2GBs? Seriously, who needs all that space for email?I could understand it if you could get large attachments of hundrends of MBs, but with 5 or 10MBs? or something, limits, what is the point?

Ok first there is quite a bit more to Gmail than 2G of space but I didn't mention it because I thought you people knew about it anyway. For more information you can always search on the internet. I am sure they will explain it much clearer than me but I will have a go anyway.

To begin with Gmail is experimenting with a number of new ideas to improve on the email service. One of this is to arrange the email by correspondent. In other word when you talk with someone over a long period of time, the service will organise the emails between you and that persons in a step by step order. This is so you can see what you have said before and in my experience is much better and less messy than attaching the pervious message(s) each time as that tends to cause a bit of problem when it gets too long.

Also the amount of space you get is really a sort of freedom. Just because you have 2G doesn't mean you HAVE to use them all. Knowing that you will always have extra space is a very good feeling as it means you don't have to worry about clearing out your inbox in regular intervals. Like all things the more is really better you can always do what you want with them. Also its free, there are these rip off site that charge you to get extra space!!!
