BBC Battlefield Academy Beta Version 0.9 Now Available!

There is a new beta version available for download:

http://www.slitherine.com/files/bbc_ba/ ... ta_0.9.exe

This version includes many fixes and updates. Please ensure you uninstall any old versions and any old savegames.

There are still known MP issues which we are working hard to correct, but we wanted to get out a version to keep everyone up to date with the single player game.

Thanks to all our beta testers!

Cheers

Pip

Oh you dirty bastard. Wiping out some of our on-line in-progress games huh? :P

Well that's ok, some of them were just parked games that had been bugged.

Anyhow, maybe we should have a heads-up on the on-line issues that are not fixed yet, in case some of them are ones that were not reported yet?

We're getting sync errors still, but only intermittently, and never on my machines (grrr). You can play (you'll perhaps see OOS popups, but the game will continue fine, it's just going to have possible issues with differing outcomes to combats etc).

Work is ongoing to fix it finally, and once it's done I will do an update.

Cheers

I'm just ruffing the testers up, so when the game goes public and all the Rommel wanna-bies come online, no beta-tester will be disgraced by getting their behinds kicked by a newb :P

BTW, I'm not sure exactly where are we supposed to place our user-created scenarios? Also, are these automatically downloaded now, or do we still have to supply them ahead of time?

Any user created scenarios are placed in the BBCBA directory's Campaigns or Multiplayer directories.

User campaigns need to get downloaded beforehand, mainly because they can be so large if there are custom gfx etc.

Alright, I see you guys changed the folder structure around a bit. Anyhow I got it finally set up now (I think). Now... keeping my fingers crossed so we don't get any more OOS errors. Or as Strebe calls them, OOPS errors, haha.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. It's been this way for many (many) months - just want to be sure you're not polluting the main game data :)

Alright, so many folders I guess I was just getting myself confused then.

Hmm, I see then. I call that the OS, it's short for "Oh Sh!t", which is the first thought in my mind when I ran into it from pomakli.

Hmm, I guess that OOS issue is still at large. Hopefully it isn't too hard to crack. Players will eventually get bored of the static maps, but the multi-player is what keeps them coming back.

There should be a new version for testing in the next day or 2. Hopefully the OOSes will be gone!
