v1.28 Error and Non-auto update

Here is my story:

When logging in to the multiplayer this morning to get the next turn in an ongoing game, I got the dreaded "you need to update your game [to version 1.28] to access multiplayer."

1. So, I start the game over and click on "auto-update". It runs for a bit, but then tells me that I already have the latest version [1.26]. Sigh...

2. ....so I go to the Slitherine site and download v1.28. When I run it, however, on the first screeen ("Welcome to Setup"), I get the following error message upon clicking the "next" tab: "On next, line 6: Argument 1 must be of type string" Nothing proceeds from there. Hitting "next" again just brings the error box up. This happens when I both download and save the update and when I choose to "run" it directly from the web.

So, the my auto updater doesn't recognize v1.28,, and I don't know what is going beyond that. Is it just me and my system?

Best,
Ed M

I'm afraid that although we intend to deliver updates beyond 1.2.8 via a new, in-game auto-update feature, you still need to use a manual installer to get 1.2.8 installed in the first place.

We're aware of this issue; hopefully there will be a solution to it soon.

I think there is an issue with Matrix versions at this time(per the main sticky re the patch)
They indicate they should have it resolved soon...
