Knockout Tournament

I'm considering running a straight forward knockout tournament and wondered if their are people interested in taking part in such an event? If their's interest it would be an 8 or 16 person knockout cup depending on take up, probably with 500pt Rise of Rome armies to start with. Once participants are arranged they will PM me with their choice of army list to use and I will make the draw, subsequent rounds will run down the list i:e winner of match one will play the winner of match two etc. Players are free to tailor their force for each match rather than having to submit an army list and stick with it through all the rounds. Let me know if you are interested.
cheers

Me four. I was actually thinking of running a traditional swiss-chess points based open tournament once Immortal Fire comes out. No reason not to do both.

That's great, two more participants and we can get underway!! Need to decide how long a round should last, is a 7 day turnaround going to be long enough do you think? Also need to have a resolution for any draws, depending on time limit it could be replayed or use casualties scored as a decider, any thougts here?

Hi Xiggy and batesmotel, I've decided to go ahead with an eight person tournament format for now, I'll put you both to the front of the line for a potential second tournament if any more participants are forthcoming though and you are still interested in taking part.
cheers

I'd be interested too - perhaps 2 tournaments... and then a grand play off between the 2 winners?

Hi Morbio, sounds good to me, five more recruits and I can start a second eight person tourney. After that could look at doing the same for SoA.
Only two army choices made for the first tourney so far, if Robert241167, MesaDon, iversonjm, GrayMouser, pantherboy and hidde can let me know their selections as soon as poss then hopefully can get the tourney under way by tomorrow at the latest.
cheers

Ok, that's five more players for a second group of eight, need three more volunteers if anyone fancies it. 16 will be my final cutoff for this first event, first come first serve. Anyone after that will have to wait for the next event I'm afraid.
cheers
