I have a build for a Venetian Italian Condotta Force post 1440, but I am not totally convinced of it's legal status. Here it is at 800 points:

Core list:
IC
3 TCs
Men-at-Arms 6 bs
Men-at-Arms 6 bs
Mounted Crossbows 6 bs
Pikemen 12 bs
Handgunners 4bs
Handgunners 4bs
Billmen 6bs

Venetians:
Stradiots 4bs

Allied papal:
Guard 4bs

Allied Neapolitan:
Feudal men-at-arms 4 bs

I am sure it follows most of the requirements: less than 800 points, more than 1/3 mounted, restrictions on base numbers and BG sizes are also within limits, but are my allied Italians correct ? There are only two and they are minimum sized, so that is correct. But what about commanders, and are they counted as in-line-of-command of my other troops and commanders ? May I make a battle line with these and other troops ?

Don't have the books in front of me but I believe you are limited to two Italian allied contingents but that should not be too big of an issue as all you have to do as designate the army as Venitian with Papal and Neopolitan allies or such.

The only minimum for the Condotta Italians are 10 bases of knights so you have that right. Allied commanders can only control troops in their line of command so unless you declare some of the other troops as that nationality, your allied generals will only be able to control the one BG specific to them.

Thanks, So with a venetian army with Neapolitan and Papal alllies I'm almost there. The question of line-of-command still stands though, as I can not buy any allied italian generals.

Allied contingents must always have their own general, and conform to the relevant allied lists.

Oh right. Well, if they are in the main list and niot a seperate contingent then, list notes permitting, you won't need an ally general.

However, your army may well have to be from a single state, in which case other state's troops would not be available. Best check.

Methinks that may have been something left out of the errata especially as the main list allows up to two allied Condotta Italian contingents and allied contingents have to have their own general.
