2 Day 650ap event in the UK

How would people feel about a 2 day 650ap event in Gloucestershire, UK. We'd go with 3 games Saturday and 2 on the Sunday. Format would be as per Expo (5by3 tables, 1 less terrain piece). Ideally we'd have an earlier start than expo as we'd not be tied by other games and traders etc... and we could get between 20 and 30 players. We'd be looking at Novemberish time this year.
We pride ourselve on the friendliness of our events; we've had slightlly dodgy lists allowed that had no advantage (but don't bank on it), we give nice prizes to last place, our draw for each round it invariably a shambles, we tested the HOTT v2 changes prior to publication and we talk about power gamers behind their back; with that in mind we'd happily consider testing out any preferred mechanism for hamstringing immoral swarm type armies. The location is a nice pub in Slimbridge Glos and we use the skittle alley for the gaming. The pub has a number of double and twin rooms for those too far to travel daily. Did I mention it's a pub? Food's good and so is the beer. For those that like to google the pub is called The Tudor Arms, Slimbridge.
Any thoughts please?
Steve

Depending on date and all that I'd be interested.

Depending on date I might be interested as well.
I don't know what the situation is regarding Game 10 or even know if there is going to be a Game 10. Last year at Game 09 I ran two consecutive linked one day 650 point comps which went fairly well.
FWIW Game 09 was the week before Roll Call last year.

Are you thinking themed or open?
I'll be in Africa for 2 weeks in November which means I miss Warfare this year. Sensibly your comp should try to avoid Warfare too.
5 x 650 point games sounds fun - I'd try to make it if I could.

That sounds like fun.
I'm already booked in for the HoTT competition but the date is important ...

I'm in.
Steve runs the Berkely HoTT tournament there, and it's a beautiful location, right on the Gloucester-Sharpness canal. Good food and award winning beers. Accommodation at the Tudor Arms goes pretty quickly, so last year I found a B&B about five minutes walk away. It's an odd sensation to look up out of the window over breakfast and see a river boat slide past behind the garden hedge.
As a non-driver, the rail-service to Cam&Dursley is adequate, but the station is in the middle of nowhere. Best to pre-book a taxi for the 2 mile trip to the pub, unless you are up for a scenic route march.
It should definitely avoid Warfare, which I have already managed to double book.
I would think that you could squeeze 12 tables of 5x3 into the skittle alley. Maybe 14.

Was that the little B&B just down the lane ? I stayed there for the HoTT weekend a couple of years back. Very nice.
Actually this is a bit spooky. Last Friday I played a series of HoTT games instead of the usual big game, and my only win was with newly painted figures intended for FOG ...

Again date dependant Lynda and I could be tempted,Pete I take it you will taking a few figures to practice with ,a photo of a game at the top of "THE HILL" might tempt a bigger contribution

Very tempting Dave but I shall be delighted if I get up there in one piece - the idea of carting a load of lead up there might just be a little too ambitious!

Hammy has a very nice 2mm set of figures that the toys play during his games....
