Dwindling commerce

I have noticed a trend with the trade levels in Spartan. Every 6-10 months, the commerce points I have available will drop by one. When I first noticed it, I thought maybe it had something to do with foreign diplomats and happiness, but I have now gotten into the habit of checking my trade levels every turn. And it's always an inexplicable slow, gradual drop - never an inexplicable slow, gradual increase. Any thoughts as to what may be causing this?

Which values exactly do you refer to? If you mean revenue then its probably because you're flooding the market and supply is greater than demand so prices drop?

I mean the actual commerce points you get from marketplaces and such. You know, you have 10 commerce points, you can use them to buy/sell 10 items...

It is probably related to one of tee structures in your cities being upgraded and the upgraded version has less points - possibly the town hall but I dont remember for sure. I know teh small town halls have some benefits in training for troops etc. The idea is if you become civilized you have to expand your services/education as well to feel the benefits.

Could be, but I'm not entirely convinced. I experience this even when I have no city below 'large town' in size. But I'll be on the lookout for a possible link here, thanks for the tip. Doesn't really make sense, though, that a city should lose trade as it grows.

Well, I'll be darned. It was the upgrading of the cities what did it, I would never have guessed. That takes care of that mystery, thanks, Iain!
