Hi there.

Been reading up on the Ottomans for my painting project coming up (just ordered some 15mm Essex Ottomans). As far as can gather:

Jannisary:
White Headress thingy and then Blue Kaftan with red waistband or Red Kaftan with White waistband. What colour were trousers? browns?

Azabs:
Red Hat with White Turban, clothing allsorts of peasanty browns and dark blues?

Qapu Kalqi:
? Presumably similar to Jannisary

Timariots:
Relatively bright and extravagant?

Akinjis:
Hat and turban as Azabs, clothing similar

Delis:
???

Serbian Knights:
As with other European Nobles-the shinier the better?

Help appreciated

Duane

FWIW, the Turkish Army Band (the modern one) dresses up like Jannissaries.

is the Wikipedia link. They wore a pretty wide variety of colors and the white hats. They are also amazing to listen to and perform everyday at the Turkish army museum in Instanbul which is equally incredible.
