Hey
Have just started playing ancients tabletop wargaming for FoG and have noticed the PC version. How similar/different is this to the tabletop version? Is it exactly the same, just computerized, slightly different, or is it more of an age of empires game, using elements of FoG?
Cheers

It is very similar to the TT, the combat system is the same, troop types etc the same. The turn sequence is different there are no charge and shooting phases. Anarchy needs to be tweaked here to be more inline with the TT rules. Other major difference is the unit sizes, the PC game assumes each icon is a 4base BG so each unit starts with 4 dice which goes down due to losses or disorder frag etc. The army lists will give you much bigger armies than the TT lists, the points are different. The PC game plays out very similar to the TT game with a few differences. I find the multi-player vs a human opponent much better than against the AI, and most players would agree there.
hope that answered your questions ok

Sounds great, what about army lists, can they be customized or are they already chosen for you?

If you have the expansions, you can build points armies very much based on the TT books -- great for multiplayer. I don't even bother with the scenarios anymore.
