GS and Tanks/Infantry

Currently in GS, tanks often get very powerful at attacking infantry in the late war. I think this is somewhat ahistoric as it is my belief that anti-tank tech (panzerfausts, for example) and doctrine was fairly effective at dealing with improved tanks. It seems to me that perhaps tanks pack perhaps a bit too strong offensive punch in the late war as against infantry - and maybe even as against other tanks.

If you focus you research on infantry and particularly antitank weapons then you can really hurt the attacking armor.

It's been my experience that tanks on average take more damage per attack late in the war, for just that reason. Anti-tank values increase faster than tank tech can keep up. In 1944-45, you need air attacks to soften up targets or your tanks will suffer heavy damage, especially against other tanks. Earlier in the war, you can sometimes get away with attacking a corps without air support and escape with only 0-2 damage.

Actually early war inf had great anti-tank weaponry, it was only the middle of the war when tanks "escaped" from the anti-tank equipment... And late work heavy tanks were indestructible with things like panzerfaust...
