The Axis AI is not more stupid in the Grand Strategy (GS) mod, the Axis forces are simply weaker.

More details: I believe the new GS mod victory conditions favor the Axis side, hence why most of the games changes from the original version of the game favor the Allies. That means if you can only play solo, the Axis AI should be much tougher in the original game. Maybe we'll see a new mod of the GS mod that is targeting the majority of CEAW users - the people who play the game in solo mode:P.

I see the Axis AI moving into fortresses as quickly as possible; while invading Poland! Aswell as other things I would say that it is even more stupid.
