I'll admit to a certain addiction to GW paints, and now that they have killed the Dwarf Bronze I am looking for a good bronze to use. Does anyone have any suggestions on a brand and color name that is sold in the US?

Not too sure whether you get it in US but Vallejo is nice. I like thier Game Colour range but have heard that Model colour is better

Hi,

Reaper's Master Series paints are really great. They remind me lots of the Vallejo paints, but are more easily sourced for me. Here's a direct link to the paint swathes. Considering they are made here in the US, they should be pretty easily available. Regardless, if I remember correctly, Reaper has free shipping on orders of $25 or more.

I like "Howard Hues" - Brass. Holds up well after a wash.

I would go with the vallejo bronze. I highlight it with the GW yellowy gold , I think it's called Burnished gold. I used the GW Dwarf Bronze before, but in retrospect it's more of a copper.

I love Vallejo paints for everything except their metallics. I find their metallics can be a bit tricky to work with.

I did just procure some Dwarf Bronze though, hadn't realized it no longer existed.

The Reaper and Vallejo bronzes are both nice. The Vallejo is a bit smoother, but I think the Reaper has a better bronze hue. Both cover well, but need several thin coats to be really smooth.

We produce 143 Dwarven Bronze in the Coat D'arms range of paints which are available from Scale Creep Miniatures in the USA.
