Hi

I paint and sell 15mm here in RSA, I believe I am a good painter ( I will link some pics as soon as I can figure out how...hey I never said I was tech smart).
I would like to know how those of you who buy on E-Bay get your minis packaged? I mean I dont want to ship the lads off to their new commander in a box with cotton wool and bubblewrap and still have to deal with an unhappy customer about cracked paint or bent spears etc. Any advice/feedback would be greatly appreciated.

On another note. This is what I currently have for sale:

Marian Romans- ( amounts=bases) Essex Minis
Best quality painting I offer- 3x Mounted Generals, 24x HF/ Bd(O), 6x MF/Ax(S) (Greek Thureophoroi), 8x MF/Ax(S) (Thracians), 4x LF/Ps(O) (Cretan Archers), 4x LF/Ps(O) (slingers), 4x LF/Ps(O) (Javelinmen), 4xLH (thracians), 3x Ct/Kn(X) (armenians), 1x Ct/Kn(X) general (armenian), 6x LH (armenian), 1x El, Camp with Fortifications...will definitely put a pic of the fort up it has ditch, rampart and palisade with one cubit Balista in corner towers. Included are some markers 40x15mm, 40x20mm, 40x30mm, 40x40mm. These are steel bases with a roughly 40mm Roman figure (cant remember where I got these, it was some museum in UK when i visited there many years ago). Army Based on Essex Plastic Bases with a Steel base glued underneath to magnetise.

Russian traditional (FOGR, DBR) Essex Minis
Unpainted but can paint on request- ( amounts=figures)

Wars of the Roses or DBR Tudors
Average tabletop standard painting-Originally a friends, given to me when he stopped playing. I have since repainted It but to a lower standard as many figures are damaged (Lances broken off what not)-mix of Essex and Museum ( amounts=bases)
3x Generals (Kn), 4x Men-at-arms (Kn), 4x Mailed Cavalry (Cv/ Lesser Kn?), 4x Demilances (not sure if there is an ancients equivalent), 8x Longbows (Helmeted), 8x Longbows (No helmet), 4x Welsh Archers (MF), 4x Welsh Spearmen, 4x Organ Guns with crews, 1x Mounted Crossbowman, 6x Billmen.

I did research on crests where I could...if I remember Gethin just got a welsh dragon or something [they are currently on other side of house and I am lazy]), 4x Welsh M@Arms or Followers, 5x Followers, 6x MF Longbowmen, 6x Mounted Longbows (for DBM but I'm sure a use could be found for these sods), 42x MF Off. Sp, 13x LF Longbow, 8x LF Javelins, Baggage (including sheep), 4x French Knights, 2x French LF Crossbows, 1x Mob

Saxons- lemme get back to you; primed only mix of 90% Musketeers 10% Generals, Artillery Piece, Pikemen and Standard Bearers/Cmd

Armies were originally DBM/DBR hence the sometimes odd bases....but anyhoo If you are interested drop me a mail at accipiter@mweb.co.za... OFC after we have worked out the best way to get stuff overseas in tip top shape.

Thanks in advance for any replies

I do a lot of buying and selling on ebay. For based 15mm figures I would line a box with bubble wrap, wrap each base (either in bubble wrap or I have sheets of thin flexible foam that is used to wrap computers, TVs, etc) separately (some people tape round each of these, but that can be time consuming to pack and a pain to unpack - thin strips cut from address labels works better). Pack each of these quite tightly together in the box. Cover with bubble wrap and add more to fill any gap.

You could try putting the bases in the box and then filling it with poly peanuts, basically Styrofoam peanut shaped packing material. Shake it a bit to help them settle down into the spaces then top it off. That would be better then bubble wrap for the spears I would think. It is also light weight to help with the shipping costs

I use polysterene beads from bean bags as flow packing, get them in huge 'refill' bags at craft stores. Very Light weight, cheap to buy. Only complaints i've had is they can be a bit of a pain to pick up if they get out when the figures are taken from the box... better that than damage to the figures tho
Marvellous.
