I have had a number of players state that when intercepting you can contact the original charging BG even if it is not in a positino to do a legal flank/rear charge.

Tell me this is not the way others play it? I was sure you could only move into the charge path (but not into contact) but havent found a convincing argument to settle the discussion.

If you are not making a flank or rear intercept, you have to "cross the path" of the charger (P63). You do not move into actual contact. You might move so close that it makes no real difference, but the contact and any stepping forward is done by the charger.
