I've got some games in my 'games' folder that don't appear in the historical games list when I launch FoG.
Can some one tell me how to get them to appear?

you have to move those games to your scenarios folder and then they will appear under custom games when you load the game, same thing happened to me

Thanks for the help.
I eventually found a 'FieldofGlory Scenarios' folder all the way over in the 'My Documents\Slitherine' folder and tried your suggestion.
A peculiar thing seems to be happening. If I copy a game in my 'games' folder that already appears in the FoG Historical Games list over to the scenarios folder it DOES appear in the 'Custom game' list, but if I copy a game in my 'games' folder that doesn't appear in my Historical Games list (such as Marathon or Beneventum) it's ignored.
Is there some other disabling mechanism somewhere?

only the 'official' games can appear in the historical list

I don't understand why people have such a hard time with this. I think it's a great idea keeping the Historical (official) games seperate from Custom games. This is to prevent chaos. Otherwise multiplayers would not always know if they had the same compatible game files. Plus it's a great way to store user made games in one place for editing and updating. You can always copy and past an Historical game to the Scenario folder in My Documents and edit it however you want. You just can't paste it back into the main game folder. I think it's a brilliant idea. I only wish there was a play-by-email function to allow playing custom scenarios by direct email.

Correct me if I'm wrong; Beneventum, Hydaspes, Marathon, Orchonenus, Taurus, and Trigranocerta ARE (official) Historical games. (The FoG Main Help Menu deals with them in Battles section.)
Not only can I not get them onto my Historical Games list, I cannot get them onto my Custom Games list . Even if I copy them over to the FieldofGlory Scenarios folder the game just doesn't find them.

The scenarios you listed are official scenarios and are available either through the original game install or a subsequent patch. They should appear in your C:\Field of Glory\Games folder. Did you alter the names of the scenario folders?

Nope! Didn't touch them.
They DO appear in my Games folder. They just don't appear in my in-game Historical Game list, and if I copy them to the FieldofGlory Scenarios folder they don't appear in my in-game Custom Game list either.
I can move other games to the Scenarios folder and they do appear in the in-game Custom Game list but these six are just ignored.

What version of FoG are you patched up too?

v1.1.2(boxed) + v1.2.5 + v1.2.6, but the problem was there from v1.1.2 I think.

I'm pretty sure the six battles you have listed above came with the Rise of Rome expansion. Do you have Rise of Rome installed?

No. I don't have RoR, only SoA.
But remember, the six games ARE in my Games folder, just not in my in-game Historical Game or Custom Game lists. I doubt they would be in my Games folder were they from RoR.
Besides, one would have to be remarkably creative when it came to defining the word 'Rome' to included the Battle of Marathon in anything called 'Rise of Rome'.

I've done a bit of delving into this and I think Brigz is right, the 6 games are supposed to be with the ROR expansion, but that was changed so what I think has happened is that those scenarios are activated by ROR when you buy it. I know it sounds strange but from what I have read there was a problem with how ROR patched to the game so they changed certain things to solve the problem, which means that the scenarios are actually ROR scenarios but placed in your original game to be later activated when ROR is installed.
So, basically these games should be in your original 'games' folder and left until ROR is installed. I know marathon isn't a Roman game, but it was in with that army pack and so was the DAG which will make the game much much better to play anyway.

All right then.
I was planning on getting RoR at some point. I guess I'll just do it a bit sooner than I expected.
It may take a while for me to confirm whether you're right though. I prefer to get the boxed copies of the packages, and I live on the other side of the world from Slitherine HQ, so I won't be able to get my hands on RoR for about 8 or 9 days (going from past experience).
Thank you both for your help.

Some of the content is included in the base game to allow you to fight against people using other army packs but none of it is activated until you install the approrpiate army pack and add some of it requires the missing elements from the army pack installer.

Well, RoR's installed and you were right.
Each of the six hitherto missing battles mentioned above (including Marathon) now appear in the in-game Historical Game list.
Thanks again.
