So how many Pilgrims should you have?

I was checking some options for the Early Crusader army and I noticed that on page 7 of Swords and Scimitars that the starter army has one BG of Pilgrims with 6 bases. The main army list states a Pilgrim BG contains 8-12 bases which one is correct? I have assumed that as the Pilgrims are a mob then the main list is correct with a minimum of 8 bases.

Hammy checked the starter lists. Experts in their field made the main lists. I know who I believe made the mistake.

Yes, the main list is the one to use if you are designing your own army. A number of the starter armies do not comply with their main list.

Both are correct. If you're using the starter army you can have 6. If you're designing your own army you have to have the 8-12.
As design policy, the cheap troops in the general lists are often in large units to stop lots of little 'filler' units in an army created from those. The starter armies don't have this problem, so get more latitude as to what can be in them.

One rule for the Rom Dom swarm and another for the rest of us Roman "haters"

So it would seem. Funny, everyone complains about the Dom Roms in units of 4 (me included) but doesn't complain about the republican Romans in units of 4 and 2.

The 4's used in the proper dom swarm are faster moving and cheaper.
