Marathon AAR

Ok,

So I gave a try to the battle of Marathon to wait for immortal fire.

The good point is that thanks to the new rules for archer, I didn't get slaugthered before I reach the persian line. Wich allow me to win the battle with the Greek. Mainly the AI choose to flee as per the old rule therefore was too often rear charged.

BUT this battle will be the battle of the supply train. It is quite a trauma to see your phalanx being rear charge by the supply train and routed by them (about 1200 hoplites slaughtered). The Persian Infantry leader was at its peak too when he alone routed 3 phalanx charging him including the greek leader (The persian leader was later routed by a rear charge). There is something I don't really understand about this glorious Persian exploit.

Could we hope for an upadte version of the scenario or/and the AI?

Just tested it myself, and yep, the AI needs changing here. It just retreats backwards until it reaches the river, and then remains facing the river while you charge its rear.

I concur

Looks like they did a good job fixing the shooter-maneuverability problem, but forgot to reset the AI to back before the formed archers acted like skirmishers.

I was playing the Towton SOA demo scenario, and it was just embarrassing how many times the computer would run their archers back out of charge reach and have them sitting there with their backs to me for multiple turns in a row.
