New patch gameplays changes: how about documenting them??

Hi!

It seems the new 1.2.5 patch includes a lot of gameplay improvements and changes. Cool!
But the patch readme is extremely lacking in details. I don't ask for an explanation any tiny fix done to the game, just some explanation of the biggest changes and rules tweakings somewhat more informative than the current...

"Improved shooting behaviour that makes foot bows much more realistic
Improved movement behaviour that forces unit to move in more realistic ways.
Improved evade & rout moves

I'm liking a lot what i'm finding around the different threads, but its kind of difficult to exactly know what has changed and how things work now.
Many things i read about (the drilled movement changes, the arc of fire, the new way evades work...) are changes that have a BIG IMPACT in any battle, and a player should know what to expect form the improved 1.2.5 gameplay.

Wouldn't it be nice if Slitheirne/Hexwar did a nice little "Gameplay Change list" and sticky it on the forum so we coudl know how the game works now??

I bet this will extremely reduce the time developers, betatesters and FoG veterans will have to spend answering the same questions time after time ;)
Specially as it seems the in game manual has not been updated for all this new stuff :?

The patch seems to bring a lot of gameplay improvements! now you only have to let the players know them! :wink:

There is a release notes topic in the help index which indicates a bit more information about the changes but it would have been better if these were more completely covered.

Thanks Chris! I totally overlooked that.
Indeed there the readme is a little more informative. I will Copy and paste it here in case it helps anybody

Change: Evade/rout moves are now only directly away from the cause. Evaders will try to go around friends to avoid any disruption, where possible.
Change: No battle group may turn more than once in a player turn.
Change: Shooting is now only possible straight ahead of a battle group in a 120 degree arc across the battle groups facing.
Change: Light horse may shoot all round but recieve a -1 POA penalty is not shooting straight ahead.
Change: Light foot may shoot all round and turn to face their shooting target for free but recieve a -1 POA penalty if having to turn to shoot.
Change: MF no longer get a penalty for moving and shooting.


But still, it seems to miss some details and also some new changes... I have read something about new LF evading rules (cavalry can catch them now?? ) and i bet there is more changes still unknown by many players.
It seems SoA betas are the ones that know more about the new rules. Maybe some of you can offer insight in a "Gameplay Change list" kind of post :D

Check the help pages which have been amended eg a revised evade one.
