Can I put in a plea for a PC campaign game module that would allow for either; tactical battles to be fought with the current PC game or on the table with miniatures using the FOG rules

There are a number of historical campaigns that would fun to do this for. I wonder if we will see any before all the army lists are done though.

It is something we're interested in but it is a huge amount of work so we're nto sure how best to deal with it. It may be a separate product completely.

A game dedicated to campaigns based off the FOG tactical system would be ideal, but i can also see how it would be difficult to integrate etc
The next best thing would be a standalone campaign game, w diplomacy economics etc (much like Chariots O War etc, however with the ability to import results of battles played off FOg pc (or whatever else you might choose to use) Several Napoleonic PC games already have this feature....

I would see a separate product for this, a series of linked battles maybe through a tree structure with the subsequent battles depending on the outcome of the first. You would have a version of FOG's combat engine wrapped in some basic campiagn mechanics. I am not refering to a system that would require a detailed economics system. For example you win battle x you may be able to receive reinforcements to your army. Or you lose battle Y and you cannot aceess allies in your army list. You lose too many battles and you suffer some desertion, that kind of thing. Just my thoughts.

Sounds like the campaign generator from either Steel Panthers or the Campaign Series games!
Although kind of unrealistic in terms of the # of battle being fought, I think it would be a lot of fun and I would buy it!

There are several things that I would like to see with a campaign module.
Grand Tactical Manoeuvring - like that of Alexander Vs Darrius or Caesar’s legions rapid marches around Gaul. You could then include element arrival times on the battle field.
In the hundred years war you could include sieges.
Include a Kingmaker style game for the wars of the roses, in fact sliterine should look to by the Kingmaker title and incorrporate it into their game.

Ian,
If you make a custom DAG that allow to create totally free army without having to pass by the editor that would be a good first move.
There is a need for a log that give detail results for each battle group and save the army as it stand after the battle.
At least that will allow campaign with outside system and prepare link with a campaigne system for FoG.
An I would really linke that the system allow linked battle. I think that a simple way to save the army as it stand after the battle is a good first step.

A campaign module similar to those for the Total War series would be close to ideal form my point of view. Almost deifnitely would need to be a separate product.
