Communication via the multiplayer system - an idea

The elegance of the multiplayer system is great - but it would be nice to be able to communicate with a present or past opponent the same way. For various reasons it's good that email addresses aren't swapped and that it's done "blind" - but how about if when you are playing someone and after they remain on a list that you can use as a way to send messages via the same system? Often you don't exactly know when a game will end, and it would be good to be able to do a post-mortem after or arrange follow up games. You can communicate via the boards, but you have to wait for the other person to browse them whereas if it was forwarded by the multiplayer email system they get it sent to them immediately. An ignore function could be added for those who wanted to squelch a particular correspondent.

Any thoughts?

It's something we're looking at - as you say, sometimes it would be very useful. But coming up with a system which can be all things to all people is tricky. But it is on our todo list!

A couple more things for the wish list:
1) Chance to respond when the game is over and thank the other player for the game
2) Ability to save replays of multiplayer games
3) Some way to "nudge" the other player when they have not played their turn for a while
4) Ability to weight advantage like in single player

With all the expansions coming, I'm sure its a question of when, not if Slitherine gets to upgrade multiplayer!

No chance to see a support of international language ? Because it's really a pain to write french in the chat room :? It's minor but it leaves a taste of unpolished product
