The case of the invisible Roman legion

Hi, when I try to start a new D.A.G. I see the following list:

Probably I created a Late Roman army in the past and instead to cancel out of the D.A.G. I saved it by mistake. The big question is where, because when I look into my Finder (using FoG on Mac via Parallels) I only can see all the other petty armies.

Any idea, where this invisible/nameless legion is saved? I found nothing else with the extension .fogarmy on the HD.
I really want to delete as it's somewhat polluting the list.

I'm not sure what you mean by starting a new D.A.G.? In which of these situations are you seeing the blank list.

Starting a new game against the AI?

Starting up the Digital Army Generator to create a new army or edit an existing one?

Starting up a new multi-player D.A.G. game?

Is this just a blank line in the list or is it the entire list box empty/blank?

Oops, yes, I should be more precise.

From the main menu, select new game. Then select D.A.G. game in the "Game Type" dropdown list shows all saved, D.A.G.-generated armies, right? In this list the nonamed army shows up, as in the screenshot, but I cannot find the according .fogarmy file, in order to delete it.

Only the army name line is empty, the point value shows up, and a "help" text is also presented on the right side. Obviously it was a Late Roman Republic army with 300 points.

Maybe see if you can load it in the DAG army editor or whatever it's called?

Funny enough, it shows up in the D.A.G editor "Load Army..." list, but when I select it and click the Load button, it does not load...

Bascially it does nothing until I either cancel out of the dialog or load a proper army, meaning one with a name

A bit off topic but if I understand correctly, Lupus you have created DAG armies following the TT rules' starter armies, isn't it?

If that's correct, would you mind sharing them? :D It would be great for lazy people like me to have pre-made armies, which would allow anyone to "taste" an army without having to scroll through a myriad of unit types. These armies would be also useful as a starting point from which to expand/make modifications later.

Sure, no problem, please look out for it in the Scenario Design Forum...

This is a longshot but I see you are Beta testing SOA, perhaps you created that dag army using the SOA exe (if that exists) and the phantom army is living in the SOA folder?

When I saved an army with no name specified on the PC I ended up with a file called .fogarmy in the armies folder. I'm not sure how doing it on the MAC would change that but the file system may well not like the file with only an extension. Or maybe you need to do a wild card search in Finder. If you can, try searching for files created around the time you think you saved the army.

Hi Chris,

I searched both in Finder and on the terminal. No find. But anyway, no biggy, as I will probably re-install to whole bunch of FoG, RoR and patches after SoA has been released. I only found it somewhat curious.
