I've forgot the password I created for one of my PBEM games. Is it saved anywhere in the game folders? I've looked in the obvious places, like the data folder, but do not see anything to indicate storage of passwords.
Regards.

In the vanilla game the player's passwords are stored in open text in the game's .data file. You'll need to open the game file with a text editor and read through the file until you recognize it.
If the game was saved with the GS expansion then the player's passwords are hashed so you will NOT be able to recover it.

I use the same password for all my pbem games, and I haven't had any problems. The only real reason to have one is to keep your opponent from looking at your forces after he completes his turn. Most people don't want to do that anyway, so just use one password and it will make things simpler.

Thanks guys.
Yes it is in the GS mod. Fortunately the game was not too far along.
Good to know that one password will work for all games.
Regards.
