Starting from scratch

Hi

Despite never owning any figures from the period, I'm sufficiently attracted by FOG to look at getting a copy of FOG-R and building an army or two for it.

I'd like to start painting figures ahead of teh release date but as a complete newb to the period, I have no idea what proportion of pike, shot, horse and dragoon I would need.

Could someone maybe give me an idea of -

1. How many figures to a base ? (Horse, pike, shot, dragoon - others ?)

2. How many bases I might need if I wanted to build a mid-17thC type army - Imperialist or ECW Royalist maybe ?

TIA,

Pete

I will have a scout around. I seem to remember Nik answered question 1 somewhere. Question 2 I will look at ratios similar to DBM to FoG:AM and try the same for DBR to FoG:RW.

Are you the Timothy who has a write up here -

If so even a copy of one of your opponants lists from that tournament would help.

That is me. (I never knew that they had used the article I submitted - thanks for pointing it out.)

I wish that I could give you a copy of my opponents lists but by the terms of the Non-Disclosure Agreement that all Beta test players signed I am not allowed to. (I also doubt that they would be much use as the lists are unlikely to match what gets published, especially the Royalist and Imperialist lists.) In any event it was so long ago that I can't really remember them.

Regards
Tim

Oh well, it was worth asking

Hopefully someone will at least give me some clues as to what to buy/paint before September.

Thanks anyway

I believe we can promise you more than that (just as soon as I can work out how to find Nik's post and reference it here)

Look at Nik's post in the thread viewtopic.php?t=13814

That should get you started as to numbers of figures bases etc.

So, at 10 past 6 I got an email saying a new reply had been posted to this discussion, but by quarter to 8 it's gone.

Anyone know what happened ?
