Cavalry break off moves...WHAT!!! How did they do that?

I know this has been discussed before in another thread but Cavlry break off moves need to be fixed fast.
Im in a game at the moment and Ive just seen a Cataphract unit break off and instead of moving away from the combat, move at 90 degrees away from the enemy through 7 zones of control and moved 8 hexes! The Cataphracts can only move 3 hexes normally so how can they move more than double in a Break off!!! Did they grow wings and fly!!!!
In another game im playing you move units to trap a cavltry unit only to see it break off and again move through ZOC to end up behind the units trapping it so that cavalry can now charge the trapping units in the rear!!!!
This would not happen on the tabletop, so why in FOG PC
This is so frustrating.

First of all there is no ZOC in Fog PC
Break offs are handled differently in the PC game than the TT, which has been posted by the devs in a former post. If you want to keep the cav there you have 2 choices, surround them so they can't break off or contact them with mounted troops since they only break off if at least half their opponents are steady foot.
You should feel somewhat lucky though, I have had several games where cav broke off, ran behind my lines and was perfectly set up for a rear charge on my troops during my opponents turn, thats not fun to watch.

What I meant by ZOC was the front facing of units. You cant move/charge past a enemy units front facing (Whatever the type) so why allow break off and evades through front facings? Yes as I said in my post Ive experienced the break off to the rear of my own troops too. The point I was making was that the break off move in FOG PC needs to be looked at by the developers.

I echo the sentiment expressed by the OP. Break offs are broken right now; I am currently in a multiplayer game against some Bosporans, and I had 3 units of pikemen engaging a single unit of heavy cav. Well, what do you know... the cav broke off when I ended my turn and manouvered right around the rear of my units, so now they can just charge me from behind before i can turn.
Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Seems to he end result of some secret break off patch they added somewhere on us. That I have broken off and will not charge your rear result seems to be happening fairly often. Better equip the troops with crazy glue to fasten their hooves to the ground so they cant move so far.
