I see the news area indicates boxed copies of ROR and FOG are/will be avaialable.... Will SOA be available as well at release or at a later time?

I selected this option for SoA. Is there any special deal for those who purchased FoG and RoR before boxed copies were available?

I looked in the shop and I didn't see an option for a boxed version for SOA. I already pre-ordered from mid-March and I looked for a possibility to change my pre-order for a boxed version but is nothing there. At least I didn't found.
The announcement for boxed versions is made only for FoG and RoR from what I see.

I just checked this out, and to me at least it doesn't make sense. If you download a copy of the main game its the same price as a boxed copy, but with a boxed copy you get:

1. A disk which obviously is a backup copy also.

2. A set of rules.

With the downloaded version you only get the download which you have to backup to disc by yourself and no rulebook, and a back up cd costs extra. Shouldn't the download version be cheaper then instead of more expensive?

I'll have to check - the pricing should obviously not be the same for a boxed copy and digital download. If it has not been fixed already we'll get on to it.

We didnt know we were going to have boxed copies until very recently - they are being prepared for Salute so we have stock to sell at the show so we hadn't thought through how this would appear to you guys.

I'll see if we can do something to offer a discount to anyone with a digital download. The thing is, the boxed copy comes with a new serial number so is actually another full copy of the game rather than like a backup CD which is just the installer with no new serial number so its not going to be simple.

We've been looking in to this and the only option we can think of is to have special boxed versions printed up with no serial numbers. This is technically possible but we'd need to get a critical mass before we could justify the setup & printing costs. We'd probably sell it at around 10 Euros + P&P. If 50 of you sign up for this we'll go to the printers and get it done. If 50 people post to this thread saying they'd buy these boxes then we'll go ahead. Print runs of 50 boxes are really expensive unfortunately. If we get more orders we might be able to reduce the price. We need 50 per game that you want boxes for, so 50 FoG, 50 RoR, etc.

Would FoG and RoR be in the same box?

No, they have separate boxes & manuals.

What exactly is the manual included with the boxed copy anyway? I only ask, because manuals now a days have many different connotations from a simple single slip 'how to install' instructions to a detailed rule book with colored photos and explanations of situations...

I wouldn't mind picking up a boxed copy, but only if the manual has some substance to it...

Any chance of a PDF file download for the manual if it is formatted differently from the help files?

It is a basic booklet manual with an overview of the game for new players. It is not an in depth study of the rules. The in game help is the main source of info.

That's a good idea... (PDF file that is)

Looking forward to the day, when a good manual can be brought separately.
