Remote Melee?!

OK, here is one I haven't heard of before. I am playing deeter in an 800 pt Selucid (me) vs Roman (him) game.
When I replayed his last turn, I noticed that one of my cav units on my right flank which had disengaged the previous turn (I think) and which is now four hexes from the nearest Roman unit, was being melee attacked while the Roman units were four hexes away!! There were three Roman units, a legion, and elephant, and some spear unit. I watched it twice, so you should be able to check it out again.
Has anyone else ever seen this?
Deeter, did you notice this during your turn?
I've stopped playing this game temporarily so that you can take a look, please do so ASAP so that we can continue with the game...

There seems to have been a possibly related issue reported as an attacker getting support from friendly units that were no longer adjacent to the enemy BG being attacked. I don't remember the thread but should be in the support forum.

viewtopic.php?t=15811 sounds like the one that may be related.

I noticed nothing amiss when I did our turn, although I could use a gimmick like that against your Seleucid thugs. Unforunately, I can't view the replay now that you have the turn. I say soldier on! It's propably a graphic glitch.

devs, I'm sure you're busy with lots of things, but if you want to see this save-game file please look or at least copy the game from the server ASAP, because I'll probably start playing this game again this weekend...

hmmm, no apparent interest from the devs in examining this bug, so I'll continue the game later today...

If you have a case where it is repeatable then it woudl be very useful. If youhave a save after the bug has occured it probably wont tell us much but you never know so if you can send it to
info@slitherine.co.uk detailing exactly which units were the issue we can check it out. Refer to this thread in the message.
Bear in mind it was Easter and a weekend. We do not work 24/7 however much you would like it!

Understood, I am sure you are very busy, but it would be good if your new moderators can at least acknowledge issues and say what to do...ideally the moderator could copy the saved game from the server so that the devs can look into the issue at their leisure and let players continue their games.
We've already played to the end of this game, so I don't think it will be useful for you to review it any more.
This was a weird problem though, and has only happened to me with one unit in one turn out of all the games I've played--have you heard of this happening before?

Moderators cannot access the server - its a fairly involved task. Unortunately you just have to be patient sometimes - generally you are playing when you are off work, which is when we are not there to reply. Bear in mind that we are not a big enough company to man the office 24/7. Any help you get at weekends and evenings is entirely in peoples own time.

Just saw an isntance of what 76mm reported awhile back. I had a mounted leader unit adjacent to some pikes and left room form him to break off. Oddly, it said he couldn't. But watching the next replay, the unit was shown where it would have been had it bounced. The pikes proceeded to attach him even though they were four hexes away! Someone explain that?

Long pikes.

As they were your pikes, I'll have to accept your explanation.

Only true Macedonian Yeomen can wield the much feared 600' pike.
From my end everything appeared normal, if that helps (in fact even if it doesn't help, it still appeared normal)

It appeared normal to me when I played 76mm. Did you notice that my unit should have broken off but didn't?
